I need your help!  With the 2010 election fast approaching, I need you to display a Visclosky for Congress yard sign. Displaying a yard sign is easy.  Just click here and fill out the online form. Then, on Saturday, October 2, a volunteer will deliver your yard sign and place it on your property.  It costs nothing and is a great way to show your support for my campaign.

It is with great honor that I serve the people of Indiana’s First Congressional District and I take the responsibilities entrusted to me very seriously. I know that every man, woman, and child in Northwest Indiana is counting on me to fight for them in Washington, D.C.  That is why you can depend on me to continue to do everything I can to protect every American job, oppose the use of taxpayer dollars for Big Bank Bailouts, provide affordable quality health care, ensure that our trade laws are enforced, and defend the rights of workers. 

I have always stood up for Northwest Indiana jobs and our steel industry.  To stop outsourcing, I wrote a bill that would deny all federal funding, including government contracts, to any company that outsources American jobs.

To help our steel industry and steelworkers, I wrote a bill that would require the government to buy only American-made steel, and I am currently fighting against China’s unfair trade practices.
